Las actividades de aprendizaje en EAV. By Andrés Peláez

This article made think of the concept of banking education stated by Freire in which students are considered empty vessels. Since I do believe that language is a social construction, these concepts of activities composed by actions and operations are in keeping with my teaching and learning principles.

Definetely, the ability of planning and knowing students' needs are fundamental to implement this Theory of the activity. I have always compared lesson planning with artistic works. You are the artist that define why you want to paint, what you look for, and how you are going to get there. The challenging part of planning and arts is that you can stamp your own style.

Once that lesson is created, it is now the students' right to know why she is doing what the teacher proposed and how she is going to do it. And this is, sometimes, the difficult part. We assume that they understand or know the purposes and procedures of the activities we implement in class. Thus, teaching, as well as planning, is a creative process that should not only promote interaction and construction of knowledge among students, but should also allow space to question and reshape our principles and practices; the art of teaching.
